Orphan Table

One of the traditions in the Dealer's Room is the "Orphan Table". The Orphan Table is literally a table that will look much like any other table in the Dealers' Room. It will have BATB items on it that you can buy. However, the items there come from many individuals and groups.

It works like this:

If you have some BATB items you want to sell, the convention offers you a service. We will add your items to "The Orphan Table", sell them for you, then ask for a 15% commission for acting as your agent. All of us benefit who are there as we can now see "more BATB goodies" in the Dealers Room. If you decide to send things for the Orphan Table, you benefit as you now found a way to sell your items without buying a Dealers' Table or spending the time staffing it during the convention. Nice tradition!

What to do if you want to send things to the Orphan Table:

1) You can "donate items to the con" - and we'll place them at the Orphan Table in the Dealers Room - accept your kind donation - and say "thank you"! (Of course, you can donate items to other parts of con activities too - but if you earmark your items for the Orphan's Table - that's where they will go)

2) You can sell some of your BATB items "through us" as described above. Here, we'll need a detailed written inventory of your items. Prices must be included on that sheet. Each item should be marked with a sticker with your initials and item price. Remember, the price on the sticker is what a fan will pay if they decide to buy that item at the con. So, factor in the "less 15%" for what will come back to you.

3) You are responsible for all shipping costs to get the items to the con, then for any shipping of unsold items back to you after the con.

4) We often do an "online sale" of unsold items from the Orphan's Table after the con. So, unsold items are not typically returned to you immediately after the con. Keep checking here for the post-con sale dates.

5) Some fans decide to sell their items through the Con as above - but then donate them if they didn't sell. That's something you can elect to do this year as well.

How to submit items for the Orphan Table:

1) Download this Excel file so you can fill it out on your computer or print out this PDF file and enter the data by hand. One sheet (Instructions) gives you some instructions, reminders, etc. The other sheet(s) (Tracking Sheet) is for you to list all your items and tell us some additional things about each one.

2) E:mail your completed spreadsheet - if you fill it in on your computer - to DealerRm@batbtunnels.org. Mark the subject line "Orphan Table".

or

3) Send the paper form - filled out by hand - to the address listed on the spreadsheet.

4) Then, after you've labeled all your items with prices, mail those to Deb at the address listed on the spreadsheet.

Simple - easy - and yet another way to participate in the con!
