Fan Panels & Activities
No Beauty and the Beast convention would be complete without fan-based panels and activities. This 2003 convention will be no exception!
We already have several panels and activities lined up. Check this section often. We'll be adding descriptions of panels and activities as they become available throughout the coming months. You'll be able to read these over and think about which ones you might like to attend while at the con.
While you can read about the fan panels and activities here, we won't be putting each one into specific time slots on the schedule until much closer to the actual con. The FINAL SCHEDULE will be in your con tote bags you receive at Con Registration and posted throughout the con at Con Central.
Fan Panels:
Getting Starting Drawing B&B
So, You Wanna Build a B&B Website...

A Note on Fan Panels vs Fan Activities:
At a Fan Panel: it will be a scheduled time and length - you find out where the speaker or panel is - you go - you listen - might be a Q&A or discussion time - and it ends.
At a Fan Activity: it is a "hands on" event that fans participate in - typically "making something" with their hands. (like the clay pieces many did of Vincent's face at the Orlando con) Examples so far for the 2003 con are one making "something tunnelish" to wear (see above - led by Maranda) and another building miniatures (of tunnels, of the inside accessories of a chamber, of the carousel, of a mini edition of Great Expectations, of a mini candle holder, who "knows" - led by Chandler)
Fan Panels will be scheduled one at a time - and you'll see the start/stop times on your schedule when you arrive in SF.
For Fan Activities, we're exploring the idea of setting up "an activity area" where more than one activity is going on at the same time for a block of the day on Friday. Fans finish projects at different times - and could simply move about from Activity Table to Activity Table - watching, advising (nicely!), snapping pictures or hopping in themselves at any Activity Table to give something a try.
For now we're listed "1 hour" for any activity with the idea that this could change into a longer time block if we put all the Activities together into an "Fan Activity Chamber" and run them simultaneously. Keep checking back here. We'll know better how to schedule Fan Activities as we get closer to the con date and have a final count of how many activities will be offered.
