Acknowledgements
Welcome to a part of the con web site that is a joy to put before you. This, like other parts of this con web site, will evolve throughout the year leading up to the FYH convention in July 2003, and likely continue to be updated even after the convention is over!
This is our place to say THANK YOU to the many individuals and groups who decided to Follow Their Hearts in specific and generous ways - to help make this convention a reality.
To each of you who find yourselves listed here? Know that your energy, your work, your money, your donations, your HEART, are more than appreciated.
Check back here from time to time - you never know who may have been added to the list!
On to the Acknowledgements!
CON LOGO
Our thanks to Clare Sieffert for her romantic and warm Vincent/Catherine art inside those hearts. Thanks to Sandy Tew for the original logo layout and exploring variations of the full logo setting and design. Thanks to Suze Howe for the final creative style editing and finding just the right fonts and colors to use. All in all, we have a logo to be proud of that really captures our Follow Your Heart theme! It's nice, too, that it developed from the combined efforts of 3 fans to get to the final result, gorgeous that it is!
TECHNICAL GURU
Our thanks to Jeff Carden who has contributed his brain to this convention! His technical expertise is phenomenal and is invaluable to the successful running of this convention. He can most often be found "everywhere", but always behind the scenes. As you see things evolve at the con web site you can almost bet that Jeff will have either been involved - or developed it from scratch! He got our Con News mailing list program developed and launched. He is doing tech support for any con web site issues. He created the first ever BATB online con registration system! And yes - he has other con projects in the works as we speak. We'll list those here as they are launched.
CON TEAM
The con team doesn't know this is being written here but a Con Chair gets to launch some surprises now and again, right? While every con needs someone at the helm to make the decisions, do the planning, set the vision and keep the money flowing (smile), NO con can happen without dedicated folks who are "do-ers" and will make this large, complex, wonderful experience called a con "happen". Each member on the con team brings knowledge and experience of one or more functional areas of creating and running a con. (bless them!)
Besides all the functional areas of responsibility (a daunting amount of work in all areas when you break it down into what really needs to happen), a con team spends TIME sharing hopes, dreams, fears, and at the end of the day, just working hard to make this thing HAPPEN. And, in the best of all worlds, they have HEART. This team has plenty of that and I can't thank them enough, just for being "them". I always know they will follow through and they'll "do the right thing" by fandom, for the convention, and for our sponsored charity.
So, my personal thanks to this year's con team, who to my delight said "yes" to working on the Follow Your Heart convention: JoAnn Baca, Lori Hicks, Suze Howe, Shelia Keith, Pat King, Cathy Moran, Sally Newman, Karen Quattlebaum, Sandy Chandler Shelton (aka Chan) and Sandy Tew. All these talented folks started working on this con in August of 2001. We've just had a new con team member join us as of July 2002 when Lyn Musacchio agreed to manage the Dealers Room for the con. So, a welcome aboard and thanks for joining us, too, Lyn.
